LightGlow ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the LightGlow app and how we handle it.

1. Data we collect

• Photos you choose — the images you select to transform with cinematic effects. A photo may contain a human face. We process the image only to generate your transformed photo. We do not perform facial recognition, do not create or store any faceprint, face template, or facial-geometry map, and do not use any face to identify, authenticate, or track you.
• Generated images — the transformed photos produced from your originals.
• Anonymous device identifier — a random ID generated on your device to maintain your credit balance and subscription status. We do not require your name, email, or phone number.
• Purchase data — records of in-app purchases and subscriptions (payment is handled entirely by Apple; we receive transaction identifiers, never your payment details).
• Basic usage/diagnostics — minimal logs needed to operate the service.

2. Face data (biometric data)

• LightGlow does not collect biometric or face-recognition data. We do not build faceprints, facial templates, facial-geometry meshes, or any biometric identifier.
• When your selected photo contains a face, that face is part of the image only. The image is sent to our third-party AI provider solely to generate a stylized version of it. No facial features are extracted, measured, analyzed, indexed, or retained as biometric data.
• We never use any face to recognize, identify, verify, or track a person.

3. How we use your data

• To generate the transformed photos you request and to manage your credit balance and subscription.
• To prevent abuse (content moderation, fraud prevention) and to comply with law.
• We do not sell your data, do not show ads, and do not use your photos to train AI models.

4. Third-party processing

To generate images, your photo is sent securely to our AI infrastructure provider fal.ai (United States), which runs the image models (including models from Google and Black Forest Labs) on our behalf. Your photo is transferred internationally (US) for this processing. An automated content-safety check (Sightengine, EU) also analyzes the photo before processing. These providers process images only to deliver the service and are not permitted to use them for other purposes.

5. Storage & retention

• Original photos are stored on our storage (Cloudflare R2) and deleted automatically after 7 days.
• Generated images are stored for 30 days so they appear in "My Work", then deleted automatically. Save anything you want to keep to your photo library.
• Account records (anonymous ID, credit ledger, purchase records) are kept while your account exists.

6. Deleting your data

In the app: Settings → Delete my data removes your generated images and history from our servers immediately. Your anonymous device identity and credit balance are retained so that purchases and the one-time welcome bonus cannot be abused. To request full erasure, contact us by email.

7. Children

LightGlow is not directed at children under 13, and our content-safety systems reject unsafe content involving minors.

8. Changes

We will update this page when the policy changes. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
